Brian A. Kane
Brian Kane represents individuals and organizations in negotiations, transactions, and litigation, with concentrations in family law, business law, and alternative dispute resolution. Brian is an experienced mediator often appointed by the courts in family law, business dispute and estate administration cases, and has served as court-appointed child counsel in contested custody cases in several Maryland counties. He has been named by Super Lawyers Maryland as one of the top family law attorneys in the state for 2012 through 2017.
Ashley N. Wilburn
Ashley Wilburn was born and raised in Hagerstown, Maryland and is a North Hagerstown High School alumnus. Ashley’s current practice emphasizes family law, including divorce, alimony, marital property distribution, child custody, child support, prenuptial and postnuptial (separation) agreements, enforcement and post-divorce matters, step-parent and private party adoptions, and child welfare. Her practice also includes estate planning, wills and trust, probate and estate administration, and commercial, contract and civil litigation. Ashley is also court-appointed to represent children in contested custody cases, and she has recently become a certified mediator. She looks forward to expanding her practice to include mediation.
James W. Stone
Jim was born and raised in Hagerstown Maryland. He has practiced law in Washington County since 1982. Jim’s current practice emphasizes business, commercial and contract law, civil litigation and appeals, corporate and partnership law, estate planning, wills and trusts, probate and estate administration, and real estate development. Before co-founding Kane, Wilburn & Stone, Jim was a principal with Poole & Kane for six years. Before that, Jim was managing principal of Miller, Oliver, Baker, Moylan & Stone, a firm with whom he was associated for 28 years.
Ian R. McIlroy
Ian McIlroy has been proudly practicing law for over a decade. Having represented a diverse array of clients over the years – from large multinational banking institutions to elderly individuals living on a fixed income – Ian always strives to tailor his practice to the individualized needs of his clients. With Kane, Wilburn & Stone, Ian primarily concentrates his practice in the areas of family law; estate planning; civil litigation and appeals; and business, commercial and contract law.
