Michael Kane represents individuals, families, and businesses in negotiations, transactions, and litigation across a broad range of matters. His practice concentrates on family law (divorce, child custody and visitation, child support, alimony, marital property division, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement, and step-parent/private adoptions), alternative dispute resolution (mediation, collaborative law, and parenting coordination), and estate planning, wills, trusts, and probate.
A highly experienced mediator, Michael is frequently appointed by Pennsylvania and Maryland courts in family law, business disputes, and probate cases. He has also served multiple times as court-appointed counsel for children in contested custody proceedings across several counties in both states. Recognized by Super Lawyers as a leading attorney in family law and mediation for numerous consecutive years, he brings a calm, strategic approach to emotionally charged matters while prioritizing efficient, child-focused resolutions.
Michael earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he served on the law review. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the District of Maryland. A long-time resident of the tri-state region, Michael is active in local community organizations and enjoys hiking and family time with his wife and two children.
